DAY 1 -- SEATTLE

Whether you arrive in Seattle in the morning or nighttime the Emerald City will captivate your senses! Taste delectable gastronomic masterpieces by magicians of many cultures, immerse yourself in the amazing music scene for which Seattle is famous.

Enjoy art galleries, take in a live performance from one of multiple theaters, or dance at a variety of clubs or local bars. Explore this historic city situated on the shores of Puget Sound and Lake Union which offers tours of the old Seattle underground then soar above the city taking in the spectacular views from the famous Space Needle or Seattle’s Great Wheel.

DAY 2 -- SEATTLE CITY TOUR including SPACE NEEDLE

Be captivated by Seattle’s open-air Pike Place Market with its famous selection of locally farmed produce and voluptuous flowers. Enjoy the eateries, restaurants, and a range of specialty food shops to take in the tastes of Seattle home with you!

Bustle through the market with people from all over the world and duck into the craft stores and any number of unique retailers. Do not forget the and the site of the 1962 World’s Fair at Seattle Center where one can take in the Science Center, ride the monorail and other rides, which provide the tourist with a wide variety of fun activities. And do not forget the gum wall!

DAY 3 -- KITSAP PENNINSULA and WHIDBEY ISLAND

All aboard! Take the ferry from the city life of Seattle to the charming countryside across the waves to Bainbridge! Luxuriate in lovely parks settings, hike nature trails, and watch some of the wildlife along the way. Marvel at the multiple mediums of artworks in the Chihuly Garden and Art Studio. Dale Chihuly, famous for his worldwide acclaim as a glass-blowing artisan has other works displayed in this location.

Take time to explore Port Townsend on Washington’s peninsula while waiting for the ferry to Whidbey Island. With a variety of shops, restaurants, and quaint old buildings this historical town is the perfect point of transition to the carved-out coastal communities at the edges of the wilderness and gateway to the wonders of mountain domains in the Pacific Northwest.

Grab a frisbee and launch it across a vast, grassy field along the beachside at Fort Casey while on Whidbey Island, hunt for shells and driftwood while the waves drag across pebbles and sand along the shore. Hike to the lighthouse and explore the deep, underground bunkers between the large WWII cannons of the old fortress.

Another historical point of reference for the traveler, is the tiny seaside town of Coupeville which boasts of both Native American roots along with the historic settlement of immigrants from many world locations. The perfect stop for unique shops, souvenirs, and a must-stop at the local ice-cream shop (in season) or stop at the old Captain Whidbey Inn for a restorative cuppa!

And note the farming docks which harvest the world-renowned Penn Cove Mussels in the waters off Madrona Lane. Deception Pass Bridges are spectacular! Spanning Whidbey, Canoe and Fidalgo Islands, this 180-foot-high passageway is a favorite stopping spot for pictures and for trekking the State park’s 4,134 acres among towering, old-growth pines, and pristine lakes. Mount Erie, on Fidalgo Island has panoramic views that are literally breathtaking.

DAY 4 -- SAN JUAN ISLANDS

Washington Park, Mt. Erie, Cap Sante, Rosario Beach, Bowman Bay. This small, charming town is the next overnight stopover, with many village shops and restaurants to appreciate. The next morning, a ferry there will carry you to other islands in the San Juan chain.

The next day one can embark further from the charming village of La Conner for the orca whale watching tour. You will be amazed at the bountiful waters of otters, seals, salmon, dolphins, and sea birds while on the lookout for the families (pods) of Orca before returning to Anacortes.

DAY 5 -- WHALE-WATCHING and BBQ

The next morning, a ferry there will carry you to other islands in the San Juan chain.

DAY 6 --  BELLINGHAM, DOWNTOWN BOULEVARD PARK, and FAIRHAVEN

See the beautiful Peace Arch Park at the border between US and Canada. See views of Vancouver Island. and get some pictures as you stand in two countries simultaneously. Enjoy the little gardens with many other tourists from around the world!

Find some special places that only the locals know to go to relax in downtown Bellingham’s historic buildings, Boulevard Park and Whatcom Falls Park and the Fairhaven district. Find out who “Dirty Dan Harris” is. Take in the verdant and varied greens of ferns, mosses, deciduous trees, and evergreen pines as you listen to the waterfalls and birdcalls of the park. Find squirrels, rabbits, deer, and many other creatures as curious about you as you are about them.

Check out the local microbreweries and wineries featured in the area. Chuckanut Drive to Highway 20- As the tour bus makes its way to the mountains, enjoy the expansive scenery and incredible views as you travel along this high coastal highway. The narrow roadway sandwiched between craggy cliffs and the rise of sheer rock hillsides will reveal glimpses of the ocean below.

Note the location of oyster beds, clam digging beaches and the restaurants that serve them fresh along the route. Mt. Baker and back.

DAY 7 --  MT. BAKER

Hike through Chain Lakes, Bagley Lakes up and over the pass into Table Mountain Ridge Alpine. Snow to relieve hot feet at Artist Point Picas, marmots, Mountain Goats. Twin Sisters, Mt. Shuksan, Mt. Baker, and the Canadian Cascades. Worth the 6.2 miles moderate hike or the shorter 4 miles easy-to-moderate loop.Be amazed at the height and sheer power of Nooksack Falls.

DAY 8 --  WASHINGTON PASS, HORSEBACK RIDING IN MAZAMA, and WINTHROP

Rest in the mountain fields with their vast variety of flora and fauna. This is nature at her best. A picnic lunch will be provided. Tour along Cascade Highway. There are no other colors like the hues of deep, blue green of Lake Diablo, the brilliance of white snow over Washington Pass, or the earthy shades of shadow and stone of the granite rocks of Liberty Bell Mountain. Contemplate the climbs that serious hikers could take to conquer the bastions of rugged nature.

Mazama is a tiny town in the Methow Valley just over the pass between the lushness of western side to the high desert of eastern Washington.

Get set to go trail riding on horseback in this peaceful environment with Early Winter Outfitters, Cross the Methow River. Get the rustic old, west feel in the lodging as you rest-up from the day’s adventures. Relaxing will come naturally as you ease into the slow roll of the quaint, quiet town.

Sling a few glasses of local apple cider or something a bit stouter back at the local saloons and restaurants with some good, down-home victuals. DAY 9 --  LEAVENWORTH, CHELAN FALLS, WENATCHEE, and CASHMERE

Alps of the US. Forests, alpine lakes, wilderness with world class biking hiking and mountaineering. Explore the old mining town, take a tubing or whitewater rafting adventure on the river, or head up the mountainside and then take the exhilarating mountain coaster down! Like Bavaria in Europe, the theme holds true in Leavenworth! Stroll along Icicle Creek and rest along Riverfront Park. A perfect spot for some interesting and fun souvenir shopping.

Take in the unique foods/spirits while listening or dancing to the music, find a perfect picture to take home from the several art displays. The local candy and fudge will delight your taste buds and the open-air grills will have you salivating for the bratwursts or other village specialties.

DAY 10 -- SNOQUALMIE, ICICLE GORGE TRAIL, and COLUMBIA FIVER FALLS

The final tour day begins as you head out taking in the wide-open spaces of Wenatchee. See the orchards along the rich hills that provide the world with delicious fruits like apples, peaches, apricots and cherries, grapes for wines, and hops, wheat, corn, potatoes, and vegetables!

Stop at roadside stands for purchasing this produce, candies, and browse the antiques and curios in the shops. Relax as you wind through the desert and canyon lands of Eastern Washington and wend your way from the height of windy hills with the spirits of wild horses expressed in great iron sculptures in Vantage that survey the deep waters of the mighty Columbia River.

Marvel at the roar and spectacle of Snoqualmie Falls and take some time to contemplate your Northwest tour.
